Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking a fine art portrait session with Ashley Lowe in Lexington, Kentucky. Still have a question? The studio answers every inquiry personally.
Where is the Heart of Gold Photography studio located?
The studio is at 4010 Haley Road, Lexington, KY 40516, in the bluegrass region of central Kentucky. Sessions are by private appointment so every client receives undivided attention.
What areas of Kentucky do you serve?
Heart of Gold Photography serves Lexington and the surrounding bluegrass region, including Louisville, Frankfort, Georgetown, Nicholasville, Richmond, Versailles, Paris, and Winchester. On-location estate and pasture sessions are available across the region, and studio sessions run from the Lexington studio.
Do you use controlled studio lighting?
Yes. Every portrait is lit with controlled key, fill, and rim lighting metered and set before the shutter moves. This is the same lighting discipline applied to fine art family work and executive headshots, and it is what separates an heirloom portrait from a snapshot.
What types of photography do you offer?
Four fine art commissions: Mother and Daughter Fine Art, Luxury Family Heirloom Sessions, Executive and Branding Headshots, and Empowering Beauty and Boudoir. The studio also offers the signature Baking with Santa holiday experience for children and families.
How much does a portrait session cost?
Pricing is shared at the private design consultation, because every commission is tailored to the session type, the number of subjects, and the finished artwork you want for your walls. Sessions are limited each month to guarantee personalized attention. Book a consultation to receive a custom quote.
Do you photograph large families and multi-generational groups?
Yes. Luxury Family Heirloom Sessions are designed for groups of any size, from an immediate family to a multi-generational gathering of ten or more. Ashley coordinates color, wardrobe, and grouping so everyone reads as one portrait.
Do you offer executive headshots and corporate team sessions?
Yes. Executive and Branding Headshots are photographed under controlled studio light for C-suite leaders, partners, founders, and women business owners. Team sessions are available for a consistent set of corporate headshots in one booking.
Do you offer prints, framing, and wall installation?
Yes. Every commission can be finished as archival lab prints on cotton rag paper with museum UV-protective glass and custom hardwood frames. The studio team provides professional wall mounting and installation in your home or office.
What is Baking with Santa?
Baking with Santa is the signature children's holiday experience from Heart of Gold Photography. Children bake cookies and share milk with Santa in a warm, unhurried session, then sit for fine art portraits under controlled studio light. It is a full crafted experience, not a quick line portrait.
How do I book a session?
Every booking starts with a private design consultation with Ashley Lowe. Use the consultation form on any service page or the contact page, or call the studio at (859) 667-8104. The first step is mapping the right commission to your story and your walls.
